Showcasing local AI on mobile workstations using CPU, GPU and NPU capabilities

Hello everyone! Remember, I posted an announcement about the project we did for HP in Switzerland (above). So, finally I am ready to share the results of our experiments.   Late last year we received a special request from HP: to explore the NPU capabilities of their newest machines: ZBook Power (Intel Core U9, RTX 3000 Ada, 64GB) and the ZBook Firefly (Intel Core U7, RTX A500, 32 GB). As you know, HP is a global leader in computing and innovation, developing cutting-edge technology for professionals and businesses. They recently introduced the new generations of mobile workstations with NPUs. NPUs are specialized processors designed for AI and machine learning tasks. They are ideal for Natural Language Processing (NLP) and computer vision applications, reducing the load on the CPU and GPU and offering high performance. Ambassador of the Month: Ashok Kumar Rupesh Kumar

This month, we’re proud to recognize Ashok Kumar Rupesh Kumar as our Ambassador of the Month.Ashok recently partnered with HP’s Edge Computing teams to prototype a remote Z by HP Workstation setup. The goal: test if enterprise AI workflows can run smoothly without local GPUs. The project demonstrated seamless remote access, multi-region model execution, and flexible experimentation—paving the way for scalable, location-independent data science.At HP’s Customer Retail Event in Paris, Ashok presented live demos using HP Z Workstations to power: Generative AI for automated content creation Computer Vision for smarter product search and recommendations He also took part in VivaTech 2024 and hosted GenAI workshops at HP Innovation Day, where he showcased an F1 Performance Cockpit—an interactive app that turns racing data into real-time strategy and predictions.Outside of work, Ashok recently ran his first 10K in Paris and continues to explore ways to make technical ideas resonate across i

I can’t find the “Local GenAI” image in my catalog. How can I enable it on my machine? (The attached screenshots below show one catalog with “Local GenAI” and another without it.)

Issue - pip dependency conflicts in HP AI Studio environment

What are the best strategies and practices to prevent or resolve errors like these?When using the HP AI Studio Platform, I often encounter pip dependency conflicts inside a Jupyter Notebook — particularly when pulling the NVIDIA NeMo framework from the HP AI Studio Images Catalog to create a new workspace—and then running Jupyter notebooks in the HP AI Blueprint “Agentic RAG for AI Studio with TRT-LLM and LangGraph” (https://github.com/HPInc/AI-Blueprints/tree/main/generative-ai/agentic_rag_with_trt-llm_and_langgraph). A similar dependency issue also occurred when running the notebooks in the “Vacation Recommendation Agent” blueprint (https://github.com/HPInc/AI-Blueprints/tree/main/ngc-integration/vacation_recommendation_agent_with_bert). In both cases, pip reports conflicts such as:ERROR: pip’s dependency resolver does not currently take into account all the packages that are installed.
